What is an air purifier?

Air purifiers are a type of air cleaning device that capture and remove airborne contaminants from the air, resulting in improved indoor air quality. They’re capable of relieving and even preventing a wide range of very common symptoms caused by unclean air.

Some of the best examples include trapping allergens to relieve or prevent allergy symptoms, capturing odors or airborne volatile organic compounds (VOCs), removing smoke particulates and odors, helping with pet by-products, and helping asthma sufferers to breathe more easily.

While there are different types of technologies used, the majority use an electric powered fan and very dense filter to permanently capture and trap contaminants as the air within a room is cycled and passes through the filter. Other types such as ionizers and ozone generators exist as well but aren’t as common in household use due to their side effects and cleaning efficiency.
